Good Hope, Alabama is a small town in Cullman County. It is located approximately at the center of Cullman County. Good Hope is the 189th largest community in the state. It is an upper-middle-class income community in comparison to state economic standards and solidly middle class as compared to federal economic standards. It is a quiet town with shady streets, low crime rates and plenty of room to run making it perfect for residents of all ages. Good Hope has a mayor/council form of city government and a pleasant sub-tropical climate with short mild winters and long, hot, humid summers. Good Hope is conveniently bisected by Interstate 65.

The area that would one day be Good Hope was settled in the 1840s. The town is named after the Good Hope Baptist Church, which was established in the area in 1842. The majority of early residents were immigrants, predominantly German. The first school house was constructed in 1880. From its incorporation in 1962 up until 1972 the town flourished expanding from a mere 640 acres to a full 2,890 acres. Today, the town of Good Hope spans approximately eight square miles and has a mixed workforce and job market. The community is unique because nearly 9% of the workforce works from home, via telecommuting or running home-based businesses.

Public education in Good Hope is provided by the Cullman County Board of Education. There are four schools in the town, Good Hope Primary School, Good Hope Elementary, Good Hope Middle School and Good Hope High School. There are three parks/recreational areas in the town, Hathcock Park, Good Hope Family Park & Recreational Complex and Good Hope Municipal Park.
