West Point is a town in Cullman County, Alabama. The community is considered rural based on its population size. Despite its size, the town is known for having one of the biggest and best schools in the county. This school serves all of the northwest portions of the county. The volunteer fire department provides emergency services in West Point, and law enforcement is provided by the Cullman County Sherriff’s Department. West Point is primarily a residential community and the majority of homes have 2-4 bedrooms. Most homes are owner-occupied.

West Point was incorporated in 1977, and the community experienced it’s the greatest growth between 2000 and 2010 when the population nearly doubled from 295 to 586. Today the town spans 3.4 square miles.

West Point is part of the Cullman County School District, and local schools include West Point Elementary, West Point Intermediate School, West Point Middle School and West Point High School. The favorite park among residents and visitors of West Point is the Town of West Point Park. It is primarily a residential community and the majority of homes in the town were built between 1970 and 1999. The next largest group of homes by age are those built from 2000 to present.
